To be honest, I was sure I wouldn’t enjoy this book. How wrong I was. The Annihilation of Foreverland is a well-written novel with an interesting and unique story line. The characters are likable and believable. Danny Boy was a protagonist that won my heart. I rooted for him throughout the book. His emotions and actions were real and description was excellent. Reed was also a character I was drawn to, although some of his actions were confusing at first, they were understandable later in the story. Description of his plight was also very nicely written. I […]
Okay, here’s what I came up with for the first campaign challenge which was to: Write a short story/flash fiction story in 200 words or less, excluding the title. It can be in any format, including a poem. Begin the story with the words, “Shadows crept across the wall”. These five words will be included in the word count. If you want to give yourself an added challenge (optional), do one or more of these: end the story with the words: “everything faded.” (also included in the word count) include the word “orange” in the story write in the same […]
Check out all the participants: I’m still in the first chapter of my newly finished novel tentatively titled Milayna: They pulled me to their leader who stood silently watching, adjusting the sleeves of his robe as if he was bored. He looked like the devil. His skin ruddy, his eyes a glowing yellow. Jet black hair was slicked back on his head and hung to his shoulders. But the demons didn’t call him Devil, or Satan, or even Lucifer. They called him… Azazel.
Okay so Anna and tagged me in the tag your it game. Thanks, Anna. 🙂 So here we go… 1. What country is the home of the majority of authors you read? The US 2. An otaku is someone who’s obsessed with something (not necessarily anime/manga). What kind of otaku are you? Family would come first, but my obsession would be writing. 3. Ebooks vs. Paper: which do you like better? That’s so hard. I like them both! Okay, since I have two e-books releasing this year (Concilium in July and Concilium: The Departure in November) I’ll have to say […]
I’m not one to get overly sentimental on February 14th. To me it’s just like any other day. Get the kids up, Drop them off at school with minimal fighting and hair pulling and then try to write/edit/rewrite/whatever. But this year got me thinking. How many writers fashion our characters after lovers, past or present? What really made me think about this was when my editor, the wonderful genius that she is, told me to think of a horrible ex-boyfriend when I write jerky male characters. So I tried. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I […]
Visit all the participants here: This week I’m sharing six sentences from a WIP I’ve been playing around with for some time. It’s finally starting to come together and I’m really excited about it. There isn’t much set-up to this scene. It’s the first few lines of the first chapter. Be honest in your critique, please. Since it’s the first few lines, I need to know if it grabs a reader’s interest. 🙂 That night I dreamt of demons. They chased me. No matter how fast or where I ran, they chased me. They were grotesque. Horns protruded from their […]
What book are you reading? I need a good YA book to read, preferably a paranormal or dystopian. Have any suggestions?
It’s time for the platform building campaign again. Click below for more information. I hope to see you there! Click here for more information
LOVED IT! My first dystopian and I loved it. Roth is a great author who painted a wonderful world, coloring it with equally wonderful characters. I loved Tris, but Four stole the show!
