Synopsis

“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

The minute I saw Vincent Sorenson, I knew he was trouble. Billionaire. Bad boy. And dangerously sexy. He was everything I craved, and nothing I needed.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t just avoid him. The higher ups at my company decided they needed his business, and I was on the team to bring him in. Vincent Sorenson didn’t seem as interested in business as he was in me, but I knew that was a door better left unopened. If I got involved with him, it would only unearth the pain I spent years trying to bury.

I thought I had it under control, but I seriously underestimated Vincent’s seductive charm and silver-tongue. I would soon find out how delicious it would feel to let myself fall into this forbidden surrender.

“Forbidden Surrender” is the first book by Priscilla West I’ve read and I was pleasantly surprised. It was well written, well thought out and had good character development. They were real and relatable. They had flaws and hang-ups. I really liked the two main characters, Vincent (oh, yeah, loved him!) and Kristen. I would have liked more development in the secondary characters. They were just there; they didn’t really add anything to the story. The plot was interesting. Forbidden love is always an exciting topic. Add to that two characters that are at odds, almost the antithesis of each other, and you have a great push and pull. The plot was interesting. Forbidden love is always an exciting topic. Add to that two characters that are at odds, almost the antithesis of each other, and you have a great push and pull story of lust and love. The subplot (nope not gonna tell you what it is—read the book) was interesting, if not a tad predictable. Although it doesn’t really come into play until the sequels, it was easy to guess how things were going to unfold. That didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the book, however, because even though I knew what was coming, I didn’t know how the author was going to weave it into the story. So that kept me interested.

Bottom line: a well thought out book. Interesting, sexy, a hawt male lead…I recommend it. My only issue was the few spelling, grammar issues that were missed during editing. Otherwise I enjoyed the book and I loved the ending. It made me anxious to get my hands on book two, which I started the same day I finished “Forbidden Surrender.”
