Synopsis

When Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup two months into sophomore year. After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality: she's single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, and failing a class for the first time in her life.

Leaving a party alone, Jacqueline is assaulted by her ex's frat brother. Rescued by a stranger who seems to be in the right place at the right time, she wants nothing more than to forget the attack and that night - but her savior, Lucas, sits on the back row of her econ class, sketching in a notebook and staring at her. Her friends nominate him to be the perfect rebound.

When her attacker turns stalker, Jacqueline has a choice: crumple in defeat or learn to fight back. Lucas remains protective, but he's hiding secrets of his own. Suddenly appearances are everything, and knowing who to trust is anything but easy.

Easy is without a doubt one of the best books I’ve read this year. I loved it. Every single word. In fact, I read it in one sitting, staying up all night to finish. I couldn’t put it down. I had to know what came next. When my kids got up for school the next morning, I was still reading, not having slept at all the night before.

The characters Ms. Webber created were real, relatable, and conflicted. The situations they found themselves in were sometimes so emotional I found myself crying at one point. It was a rollercoaster ride of emotion.

I fell in love with Lucas. How could I not? He’s not only sexy as hell, but a tortured soul who carries a huge burden for something he can’t be blamed or faulted for. He’s fierce when it comes to protecting Jacqueline, but guarded in his relationship with her. His story is heartbreaking. I’m a sucker for the tortured hero.

Jacqueline was just as real to me as someone sitting in my living room. She had hang-ups and issues that were real, gritty and made me love and root for her. The supporting characters were developed just as well.

Easy is a book I highly recommend. And don’t get hung up on the title, you won’t understand it right away but it’s a swoon-worthy moment when you realize what it means.

This is one of those stories that stays with you long after you finish it. I’ll miss Lucas and Jacqueline.

Read it. If you love contemporary romance, you’ll love this book. And I think it covers a topic every teenage (every woman!) girl should be aware of.

I love when you find a book written so well that you can picture the hero and heroine coming over for dinner. It sounds like this is one of those books. I will definitely be checking this out. Thank you for sharing.
