The Ex Trials

The Ex Trials

A feel-good romance about forgiveness and second chances. If you are looking for an independent female protagonist, and a strong, swoony leading man, Casey and Cole of The Ex Trials by Heather Topham Wood will likely fit the bill.   There is a nice subplot in the story which gives it more meat. Although the secret Casey is keeping is easy to figure out, there’s enough tension to keep readers flipping through pages to get to the end.   As far as mechanics go, there were some issues, such as typos, wrong word usage, and awkward wording. And there were […]

Invincible

Invincible

“Invincible” has an incredible message underlying the romance. Sex trafficking is a huge issue and it doesn’t just happen in other countries. American women are at risk. And the author of “Invincible,” Alana Albertson, brings attention to that in her work.   I think “Invincible” had a great plot. I loved the idea of a (single) military soldier going to a brothel to…ah, relieve, himself. ‘Cuz let’s face it. If they’ve been on a boat for weeks at a time or in some country cut-off from civilization they’re gonna want to, well, shaboink.  Just the way it goes. So he […]

Caged Warrior

Caged Warrior

“A gritty, dirty look into the violent world of underground fighting and the dynamics of a family torn apart by a father’s determination to thrust his son into the cage.”   This is a somewhat difficult review to write. “Caged Warrior” isn’t the type of book I would normally pick out for myself. If I hadn’t been given an ARC to review, I probably would never have read the book. However, I’m so glad I was given the opportunity to review this title.   The author, Alan Sitomer, has an incredibly strong voice. The main character, McCutcheon, is written extremely […]

Blindfolded Innocence by Alessandra Torr..

Blindfolded Innocence by Alessandra Torre

“Blindfolded Innocence” was a decadent read. It was one of those books that runs a fine line on the naughty side…but it’s too good to be really naughty. Or is it, it’s too naughty to be good? Hmm…I guess the reader will have to decide.   It falls into the tried and true mold of forbidden love. She’s an intern at a law office where he’s a partner. A relationship is a definite no-no. So of course there’s going to be one!   Even though this type of story line has been done multiple times, I quite liked “Blindfolded Innocence.” […]
